CATERPILLAR AWARDS SILVER RANKING TO BUSCHE

Albion, Indiana - Busche Enterprise a CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) Production Machining facility just East of Albion on State Road 8 recently was presented with CAT's distinguished Silver Quality Excellence Award in Peoria, Illinois. The Supplier Quality Excellence Program plays a critical role in moving to a more proactive approach to managing supplier quality and ensuring robust process control / change management in support of Caterpillar's 2010 zero defect vision. Suppliers who demonstrate significant progress towards these program requirements are Caterpillar's partners of choice for new business. "The higher quality rating from Caterpillar will result in additional work for Busche and jobs for our community in 2009 and beyond. This is a testimonial to our team's commitment to our customer's and Busche's goal of zero defects." stated Nick A. Busche, CEO/President of Busche.

Globally, Busche is one of seven Machining Facilities in the world to have received the Silver Certificate. Caterpillar has set high standards / requirements for companies wishing to obtain this coveted award. To achieve the silver standing companies must be TS16949:2002 Registered/Complaint; CPK (Safety Critical Characteristics) must be >1.33; PPM's (Parts per Million) <200; % of Dollars Rejected <0.15%; 6 Sigma Deployment Completed; Supplier Delivery Performance: Production / Parts Services 96% /85%; PPAP on time delivery minimum 95%.

The Caterpillar Supplier Quality Excellence Program consists of four stages: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. BUSCHE attracted the attention of Caterpillar Executives in 2007 becoming the first company to be awarded the Bronze level at the first submission after launching over $12 Million in new work machining castings. Since this significant launch, BUSCHE has become the only machining facility to handle diesel engine bearing cap machining for the Caterpillar organization globally.

Caterpillar represents 20% of BUSCHE'S machining sales. Busche is a medium to high volume CNC production machining facility that specializes in providing machining services for the automotive, agriculture, diesel engines, and other industries for a wide diversification of customers. Busche has over 400 dedicated, non-union employees, 220 plus pieces of CNC equipment, and six locations with over 300,000 square feet under roof in Northeastern Indiana.
